About First Step Preschool

First Step Preschool is a Preschool for children between the ages of 20 months to 3.5years. Our program promotes the growth and development of children by providing a warm and nurturing environment that is responsive to the needs of children and families.First Step preschool is for the families that seeking a high-quality, early childhood experience for their child. Located at Joramandir, Baguiati, our little bundle of joy’s will have access to the on-site playground, yoga and most importantly scientifically researched and result-oriented approach, committed offerings and strong value proposition.

Our Curriculum

We use a research-based teaching method known as Direct Instruction (DI), which employs rapid pacing, grouping by skill level, and teaching to mastery so teachers can lead class more efficiently and students can learn more effectively. Invented in the 1960s by Siegfried Engelmann, Direct Instruction has consistently been shown to enhance academic performance and increase learning potential.

Kids-Centred Approach

A student-centred approach to learning is focused on each student’s needs, abilities, interests, and learning styles. Students are active participants in their learning. Lessons and activities are designed to allow students to choose how they will learn. Research shows that personal involvement, intrinsic motivation, personal commitment, confidence in one’s abilities to succeed, and a perception of control over learning lead to more learning and higher achievement in school.
Quarterly Assessments

Preschool assessment is important! When we think "assessment", we typically think of progress reports or report cards for the children where we can take a hard look at the levels of growth and development of each student.

Developing Motor Skills

The age of 20 months to 3years is the time of tremendous development for your child. They will be developing exciting new skills all the time.

It help kids burn off extra energy and control their impulses, develop strong immune systems, and willingly consume more fruits and vegetables.
Painting

Painting allows children an educational opportunity that is fun and exciting. It aids children acquire hand-eye coordination, an important skill in their age.
Yoga For Concentration

Studies have revealed that there was significant increase in motivation and concentration among kids who performed certain specific asanas.
Zumba Dance

Zumba will have your child dancing, singing and playing! They can be as energetic and active as they want to be in a fun and dynamic environment.

  I have admitted my kid in this school at an age of 1.6yrs. I received many concerns and challenges from families, on putting him into preschool at such a nascent age. But truth is I have witnessed how my kid's behavior changed being a regular school goer. The teachers and aunts are very child friendly, they taught him good practices like sitting tolerance, listening skills, callouts for washroom, health activities, etc. They conduct events on various occasions involving the students, which is also part of their learning. My concern was never on academics, rather behavioral. But still I see my son telling 1 2 3 and A B C as he listens and sees the numbers and alphabets regularly in school. I could reach out to the teachers and openly discuss my concerns for my son, about his progress and obligations if any. I have also received guidance on school admissions from them.
